Interland Sea Conero Interland

 

The Riviera del Conero offers to visitors several interesting resorts:

 

Numana: 

Very old, in the V century it was an important market of ancient Greece; conquered by the Piceni in the Middle Age, it knew a long period of decadence. In 558 collapsed because of a strong earthquake. At the beginning of the XX century some nobles from Rome chose this place as their summer residence; since this moment it has become one of the most prestigious resorts of the Adriatic Sea.
The town is rich of historical issues, such as the Romanesque fountain of five mouths, and the “tower”, a middle aged enigmatic arch overlooking the sea. At the Antiquarium you can also see finds from Ethrurian necropolis.
The neighbourhoods are full of tennis, squash and football courts to practise sport.
Who is keen on sailing and windsurf can find in this windy area the ideal place to enjoy and discover hinted beaches and caves.
Who practise these sports for the first time can attend sailing courses at Circolo Navale or at Club Nautico.
The Sub Centre organizes immersions and provide to the equipment.
Riding schools organises excursions.
There’s a golf court at Sirolo, not far from Numana, well-known for its European Blue Banners because of its clear sea.
Numana is also well-knowed for his nightlife.
The blue sea and the silent beaches make of Numana-Sirolo the best place for a relaxing holiday.

 

 

Sirolo

It stands at the foot of Conero, inside the walls of an old castle overlooking the sea.
Its suggestive alleys, recently renewed, create an ancient background.
From the main square you can admire a charming sight of the Sassi Neri and San Michele coasts.
In the summer the natural theatre in a cave prposes several suggestive performances.
From Stirolo you can go on the Conero and get easly San Michele and Sassi Neri beaches.

 

Offagna: 

iIt’s a typical middle aged village built on a fortified rock. In the summer ancient feasts and performances take place and recreate the old atmosphere, with jesters, magicians, wavers and knights and typical ancient dishes. People also use the “cresciolo” to pay, and many inns open for guests.

 

 

Osimo:

It’s an old fortified village that still shows the walls and some doors. It’s rich of works of art and architecture, such the cathedral, the Romanesque tomb and the beautiful baptistry.
Gardens shows great variety of plants and flowers.

Castelfidardo:

Famous in the world as the town of the accordion, many farms and craftsmen are connected with this activity. Its churches, the square and the monument to Cialdini merit a visit. In the summer a traditional old market take place along the main road until night, with stalls, performances and shows.

Loreto

Religious resort of wide fame because of the Holy House that, according the legend, had been brought there by Angels. The cathedral recently renewed, the square, the loggia the art gallery and the holy stairs merit a visit.

Recanati: 

Giacomo Leopardi and Beniamino Gigli’s native town, you can visit the poet’s house, the infinitive hill and other places mentioned in his works. Each first Sunday of the months takes place an antiquary market.

Camerano:

Very interesting are the tufe caves underground, that can be visited with a guide.

Macerata:

Not far from Numana, it’s a resort for art fans; it vaunts the Sferisterio amphitheatre where enchanting lyrical performances take place.
